85 Omni GLH Turbo
This is a Graphic Red GLH turbo I picked up in Prospect Heights, IL on 9/24/04.  I purchased the car from the original owner and it's only got 56k miles on the clock.  The car is now for sale, $800 obo.  Included with the car is a replacement floor pan (the existing floors are badly rusted).  Located in Northeastern IL.  The car has very poor brakes and a bad shifter bushing so it will need to be trailered.  The engine runs excellent and the car can be driven on and off a trailer easily.  Also included with the car is the original window sticker and sales paperwork.  Please check out all of the pictures, I have tried to get photos of the major flaws of this car.  Delivery in the Chicago/Milwaukee area can be arranged for the cost of fuel.
Picked the car up after work on a Friday night but couldn't get any pictures then because it was too dark.  This is how the car looked when I walked outside the next morning.
That's a thick layer of dirt on the body, this car has spent some time sitting in the previous owner's driveway
I didn't know moss could grow on a car...
The interior needs a serious vacuum and dusting but is like new otherwise
A couple hours with the pressure washer and scrub brush got it cleaned up pretty good, this pic is with the hood 1/2 washed.  It really took some scrubbing to get the dirt off.
The engine is all original and unmolested, it's not the cleanest engine compartment and it really looks like the cars got twice the mileage it says.  A lifetime of sitting outside can do that.
All clean!  I put on a quick coat of wax too, just to make it shine.
You can't see it in the pictures but there are a few spots where the paint is peeling on the roof.  The front doors have some bad cancer on the bottoms, and the floors don't look much better.  Anybody got some rust free doors for sale?
A few goodies came with the car as well.  The owner kept a lot of the paperwork from when he bought it, including the window sticker, an invoice, some magazine articles and a set of service manuals.  Also included were some spare belts, a few oil filters and a couple spare tachometers (problematic on these cars).  The previous owner installed a new oil pan shortly before I bought the car, the original had given way to rust and started leaking.  The last straw was when the shift linkage came apart on him a few miles from home.  The linkage was rusted together and after much frustration he decided to sell the car.  The linkage was rigged enough to move the car around but needs attention before it can be driven.  Even more important than the shifter is the brakes, I haven't looked into them yet, but they were barely strong enough  to stop it from rolling down the driveway, I wouldn't dare take it down the road in it's current state.  A little TLC and some rust repair should get this one back in action soon.
The window sticker is hard to read, but it does show that the car stickered for $9,695.00 with the optional turbo engine, A/C, rear defrost, and a rear wiper.
