83 Dodge Rampage

Since I didn't have enough projects I bought this trucklet in June of 2001 to keep from getting bored.  It has the stock 2.2 carb motor in it with an automatic trans.  It runs good and gets lots of comments wherever I go.  Just wait til I'm finished with it...
This is the truck when my uncle picked it up from a buddy of his, the paint was faded and it had a hideous cap on it.
The cap came off and the paint was rubbed out, the truck started to shine again.  The engine ran great when it was cold, but was gutless when it was warm.
I picked the truck up in Council Bluffs, Iowa and towed it behind my other truck all the way home (500 miles).  It knew it was meant to be when I noticed that the title I got showed the truck being from Shelby, Iowa.
I fixed the timing and the truck had power again but the brakes weren't too good, I found a PCV valve had been installed in the vacuum line to the brake booster, once that was removed, everything worked great.  A few weeks later the stock brakes started grinding and the work began....
I removed the stock brakes and hardware and cleaned some parts off an 87 Shelby Charger I had parted out.  Off came the little stock brakes and their non-vented rotors.  The 4-lug hubs were swapped with 5-lug ones. The ball joints were swapped to the bigger 84-up style ones.  New rotors, calipers and pads were installed.  While I had the front end apart I removed the old struts and springs.  In went a set of KYB GR2 struts with new bearings and Shelby Charger springs.  This truck now stops on a dime and handles much better.   I still need to upgrade the rear to 5 lug drums and put in a bigger front sway bar.
