Purchased on 3/29/03 from Charles Ward in Michigan. I got the body of the car form Charles in exchange for some Omni parts. The engine came from Brandon Knox , also from Michigan. I traded my 89 Plymouth Voyager Turbo for the Spirit's Drivetrain which came disassembled. The body of the car is rough with rust on the lower door seams and drivers floorboard. the paint on the roof and trunk is peeling bad and the interior is disassembled and in need of cleaning. This car appears to be a very basic spirit R/T, lacking power windows, seats and ABS.
This is how I got the car, a box of parts in the back seat and most of the engine parts in the trunk. The engine bay was stripped of it's wiring. The interior was taken apart somewhat but most of the pieces appear to be there.
Some assembly required? :)
I emptied the trunk out and put the fourth rim with it's shredded tire back there for safe keeping.
After getting the car home I spent a good part of the following day sorting through the parts and piecing the engine back together, it's nowhere near running yet, but at least it looks complete. The car was not running when the previous few owners got ahold of it and that concerned me. An inspection of the engine did not reveal any major mechanical problems so I took a look at the wiring, sure enough the oxygen sensor wires had melted all the insulation off and shorted out. This typically will blow a fusible link in the harness and kill power to the fuel pump. This poblem is relatively common on R/T's and it is recommended to re-route and protect this wiring apropriately.
